Self-Service Tankless — what you want to know

Self-Service vs Regular Visit — what's the difference? +

Self-Service: the filter is shipped to your home for you to replace yourself (more affordable). Regular Visit: a technician comes to service the unit periodically. Both are included in the subscription with the same warranty.

How do I sterilize the water outlet? +

Press and hold the Outlet Sterilize button for 3 seconds, place a container of 300ml or more under the outlet, then press the Dispense Water button. The process takes about 10 minutes — discard the hot water once done.

How do I sterilize the water pipe? +

The pipes for hot, ambient and cold water are automatically sterilized once a week (~15 min; ~30 min every 4 weeks when the cold water module is included). To sterilize manually, press and hold the Internal Sterilize button for 3 seconds. Sterilization is limited to the pipe from filter to outlet.

How do I replace the filter? +

Remove the draining tray, move the tap aside and open the filter cover, turn the filter 90° counterclockwise to remove it, insert the new filter and turn clockwise, then replace the cover. Press and hold the Cold Water button for 3+ seconds to reset the filter usage count.

The sterilization features aren't working. +

Check that the source water valve and the tap's water supply valve are both open — the sterilization functions won't work if either valve is closed.

How much space do I need for installation? +

The unit can be installed on the countertop or built-in flexibly (vertical/horizontal) to suit your kitchen — unit size is 170mm x 419mm x 410mm (without tray).

Rent vs buy outright — which is better? +

Rent: no large capital outlay, warranty & service for the full subscription. Buy outright: you own it, but warranty is only 1 year and service isn't included. Most customers choose renting for peace of mind.

Can I change colour after buying/renting? +

Colour is chosen at the time of order. Contact Nurul to check stock availability (Navy Blue/Silver/White) before confirming your order.

Full Disclaimer (features & testing) +

1) Auto Sterilization (Internal & Outlet Sterilize)

Automatic sterilization sanitizes the internal cold, hot & ambient pipes once a week; includes the cold water module every 4 weeks (~30 min). Manual sterilization: press and hold the Internal Sterilize button for 3 seconds.
Outlet sterilize: dispenses hot water — place a container of 300ml or more under the outlet; the process takes about 10 minutes and can be tracked via the LG ThinQ app.
The 99.99% sterilization efficacy is based on the representative model (WD505AW), tested by Korean institutes KTL, KCL and KOTITI under LG's internal evaluation method (21.05). Results may vary depending on ambient temperature and usage conditions.
Test bacteria: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The sterilization range is limited to the filter and the internal pipe from the filter to the outlet valve.
Changing the sterilization schedule (via the app or the product panel) is only available for units manufactured after February 2022.

2) UV Sterilization (UVnano)

UVnano is a compound word of "UV (ultraviolet)" and "nanometer (unit of length)".
The 99.99% internal sterilizing power of the UVnano outlet is based on LG's internal evaluation method, tested by Korea Testing Laboratories (KTL, 21.3) and Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL, 21.2). Results may vary depending on ambient temperature and usage conditions.
Test method: at an ambient temperature of 25±5°C, the outlet was filled with water containing test bacteria, the 'Self Care' function was run for 24 hours, and bacterial reduction was compared before and after.
Test bacteria: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

3) 4-Stage All-Puri Filter System

Certified by the Korea Institute for Water Technology Certification (KIWATEC) under Korea's Drinking Water Management Act — based on a quality inspection report; actual results may vary depending on the usage environment.
Removes heavy metals above the standard: mercury, lead, iron, aluminum, copper, arsenic, cadmium, zinc, manganese — plus 19 organic chemicals, 4 pesticides and 1 microorganism.
The UF filter's pore size is 0.1–0.3㎛, which removes fine particles and bacteria larger than that size while allowing smaller ionic minerals to pass through.
The 99.99% norovirus removal was tested by Norogen (20.6) under LG's internal evaluation method, under limited conditions — results may vary depending on the usage environment.
The All-Puri Filter System is not tested or certified as a complete system.

4) LG ThinQ™

A home Wi-Fi environment is required to register the appliance in the LG ThinQ app (Android 7.0+ / iOS 12.0+).
Download the LG ThinQ app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and connect to Wi-Fi to use LG ThinQ functions.
During initial setup, the smartphone and water purifier must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network; the water purifier must remain connected to the registered Wi-Fi network for ongoing operation.
