What is a suitable temperature setting for my air conditioner? +
When the air conditioner is first switched on, select a lower temperature and stronger airflow to cool the room more quickly. Once the room has reached a comfortable temperature, 25°C is recommended for maintaining cooling while managing electricity consumption.
What is the difference between an inverter and a non-inverter air conditioner? +
A non-inverter compressor generally operates at a fixed speed — it switches off after reaching the selected temperature and back on when the room warms up. An inverter air conditioner adjusts its compressor speed according to room temperature, running faster when stronger cooling is needed and slower once the temperature is reached — helping provide faster cooling, better energy efficiency and quieter operation.
What does Soft Air do? +
Soft Air provides indirect airflow instead of blowing strong cold air directly towards the user — useful for sleeping, relaxing or working in the room because the cooling feels gentler.
What does AI Air do? +
AI Air adjusts the fan speed and airflow direction automatically based on room conditions and the user’s selected location — helping maintain comfort without requiring repeated manual adjustments.
What does kW Manager do? +
kW Manager allows users to set an electricity-consumption target through the LG ThinQ™ app. The air conditioner monitors accumulated usage and adjusts its performance to help manage electricity consumption.
How can I clean and manage the air conditioner? +
Clean the Pre-Filter approximately every two weeks — wash it with lukewarm water and use neutral detergent for stubborn dirt, then dry it in the shade away from direct sunlight. Optional filters should generally be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or soft brush unless the manual states they may be washed. Auto Clean+, Freeze Cleaning and All Cleaning also help maintain the internal components.
How can I reduce my electricity bill while using the air conditioner? +
Use an appropriate temperature, avoid selecting an unnecessarily low setting and clean the filters regularly. A temperature of approximately 25°C is recommended for cooling. The kW Manager and Window Open Detection features also help manage unnecessary energy consumption.
How is a split air conditioner installed? +
A professional installer is required because split air-conditioner installation involves connecting the indoor and outdoor units, drilling through the wall, installing refrigerant piping and completing electrical work.

1) AI Air

  • AI Air can be operated using the remote control and LG ThinQ™, and is available in cooling and heating modes where supported.
  • Before using AI Air, users may need to take a photo of the space through LG ThinQ™ or set the locations of the air conditioner and the room occupant.
  • While AI Air is operating, fan speed and airflow direction are adjusted automatically. AI Air may switch off when the airflow direction is changed manually.
  • Refer to the AI Air configuration screen in the LG ThinQ™ app for complete usage instructions.

2) Soft Air

  • In Soft Air mode, the lower air outlet is closed and the front air outlet provides indirect airflow. Soft Air is available only in Cool, Fan and AI Air modes.
  • When AI Air is operating, Soft Air may be activated automatically according to the room environment. To use Soft Air independently, activate it manually using the remote control or LG ThinQ™.
  • Airflow temperature can be set through LG ThinQ™ when Soft Air is being used independently (cannot be set while operating as part of AI Air mode). The lowest selectable room temperature is 24°C.

3) Comfort Humidity Control

  • Airflow changes automatically according to the operating environment. The function can be operated using the remote control or LG ThinQ™ — users select the desired temperature, while humidity is controlled automatically.

4) Sleep Timer+

  • Sleep Timer+ automatically adjusts the temperature by analysing the user's operating patterns while sleep mode is active. Initial setup must be completed through LG ThinQ™; available only in cooling mode.
  • Airflow strength is set automatically based on usage-pattern analysis and may be adjusted through LG ThinQ™. The Sleep Timer+ temperature range is 22°C to 28°C.

5) kW Manager

  • kW Manager is available in supported operating modes such as cooling, dehumidification, sleep and jet mode, excluding heating mode. During the selected period, accumulated electricity consumption is monitored.
  • The air conditioner may limit its operating performance and electricity usage for the remainder of the period. If accumulated use increases because daily usage time is exceeded, the remaining allowance may be recalculated across the remaining days.
  • kW Manager can be operated only through LG ThinQ™. If accumulated consumption exceeds the selected target, kW Manager may be released and the unit returns to normal operation; a notification may be sent through LG ThinQ™.

6) Window Open Detection

  • The initial setting is switched off when the product is shipped. The function can be configured only through LG ThinQ™, and is available only in cooling and heating modes where supported.
  • The function detects sudden room-temperature changes within a short period — it may activate when a temperature increase of 1.5°C or a temperature decrease of 2.5°C is detected within five minutes.

7) All Cleaning

  • All Cleaning can be operated only through LG ThinQ™. When used, condensed-water generation, Freeze Cleaning and Auto Clean+ operate sequentially.
  • Models with a UV function may activate the UV LED during All Cleaning. The function can be stopped by ending operation or changing the mode/settings using the remote control. Operating time may vary according to environmental and usage conditions.

8) Auto Clean+

  • Auto Clean+ automatically initiates internal drying after cooling operation ends. The product may display the remaining drying time.
  • Auto Clean+ may operate automatically in fan mode for up to approximately 20 minutes, depending on previous cooling-operation patterns. Internal drying performance may vary according to indoor temperature and humidity.
  • Airflow strength may be selected through LG ThinQ™ on supported models to adjust airflow and drying time. Settings may vary according to the product model and factory configuration.

9) Freeze Cleaning

  • TÜV Rheinland Korea confirmed that the evaporator Freeze Cleaning mode of selected LG air conditioners demonstrated bacteria-reduction performance under the proposed test conditions. Report numbers: KR23LGPO, KR2357TB, KR2384CM, KR230H9, KR237102, KR235J9N and KR23OGEG.
  • The test report recorded up to a 99.0% reduction rate for Pseudomonas aeruginosa under specified laboratory conditions. Actual performance may vary according to the product, usage and environmental conditions.
  • Test institution: TÜV Rheinland. Test period: April–May 2023. Test models: SQ07EDETHN(SE), SQ06BDAWAJ(SA), SQ07SDJBAN(SJ) and SQ09MDKWAN(SK). Freeze Cleaning can be operated through LG ThinQ™; operation may take up to 65 minutes depending on the environment.

10) Plasmaster™ Ionizer++

  • TÜV Rheinland verified that the Plasmaster™ Ionizer++ removed up to 99.9% of adhering bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, in a 30m³ test room. The tested model was SW09BAJWAN.
  • The test did not measure the efficiency of removing bacteria inside the air conditioner itself; actual performance may differ according to usage conditions. Intertek also verified the same removal rate for the same bacteria in a 30m³ test room under the stated test conditions.

11) PM 2.5 Filter

  • Product images are provided to assist understanding and may differ from the actual product. TÜV testing verified that the tested model's Fine Dust Filter removed up to 90% of PM 2.5 dust within 275 minutes under specified test conditions.
  • Filter application may vary according to country and product — customers should confirm the included filter specification before subscribing.
